Today we were on the island of Langkowi, which is in Malaysia, and as you can see from the first photo below we arrived there at dawn.
The excursion of the day was a visit to Kilim Geopark, which as you will see in the photos below is an area where there are large limestone pinnacles jutting up out of the sea.
In addition to the spectacular pinnacles the highlights of todays excursion were:
A walk through a small cave inhabited by a small population of bats, and surrounded by a mangrove forest inhabited by monkeys and the small crabs that the monkeys eat.
A visit to a fish farm where we got to see and hold a creature the locals call a Horse Shoe Crab, but infact it is not a crab but is a member of the spider family.
Watching some eagles and kites fishing and feeding. We have never seen so many hunting birds feeding at the same time.
All in all a very good day!
