We headed back into the Southern fringes of Cali this morning to visit Jardin Plaza on Carrera 100. An impressive modern mall with a Carrafours supermarket, a very large hardware store and many other clothing stores. Very up market. Wifi in the outdoor food areas. We stayed there much longer than expected as I was trying to buy some parts for the propane system as the time is approaching when I will have to figure out how to get our propane tank refilled or use a local gas bottle.

The drive south to Popayan was mostly on good highway with the inevitable roadworks.

Popayan was a bit of a driving challenge as again we did not have a good map of the town and once into the old part of town the streets were a maze of narrow one-way alleys, full of traffic, with road and sewer works just to make things more exciting. We managed to find a parking spot and walked around enough to find the two old bridges that are one of the sights of the town.

Camping

Terpel gas station north of Popayan on East side of highway. Has a fenced yard without guards where a few trucks parked with us overnight. The surface is a bit rough with broken concrete rubble as the primary surface.

About 15 km further north is a new gas station being built, just north of a peaje, that has a very large parking area. Will be a nice place to stop when done.
